Cosmetic Dentisty

Focusing on the appearance and the bite of your teeth. Enhancing the the esthetics and function of your teeth and smile.

Dr. Nowaskey takes a very conservative approach all while using cutting edge techniques in dental technology and advanced materials.

Cosmetic services we treat are chipping, discoloration, closing gaps, uneven alignment, exposed root surfaces, irregular surfaces, gummy smile, broken or cracked teeth, replacing old silver amalgam fillings that are leaking.

Gum Surgery

Whether you have gum recession or have excessive gum tissue, we offer treatment options such as tissue grafting or gum contouring.

Gum grafting may become necessary when your gum has pulled away from your tooth or it has recessed causing your root to be exposed.

Gum contouring is a procedure that can reshape your gums, improving the shape and remove the excessive tissue. This can improve your smile and give you a more aesthetically pleasing gumline.

Emergency Dentistry

If you have a medical emergency please call 911.

In the event you have a dental emergency please contact the office at 847-359-1751.

Our staff will offer you an appointment  at your earliest convenience and an experienced staff member will provide you with at home instructions in the meantime.

Dental emergencies can be a toothache, cracked or broken teeth, an abscess, tooth sensitivity, lost crown, jaw pain, loose orthodontic wire that's cutting your tongue or a broken denture or bridge.

Dental implants are a long term, natural looking solution for missing teeth.

The process of surgically placing a sterile threaded post into your jaw and restoring it with an implant crown.  With proper care, the results can last decades, even a lifetime for patients.

Dental Implants

Crowns and Bridges replace missing teeth.

Crowns will normally be placed on a weak tooth like a root canal tooth or a tooth that has had several previous restorations. Giving strength, a normal tooth appearance and aiding in chewing.

Bridges are normally made when several teeth are involved or missing, anchoring to another tooth.

Crowns & Bridges

Orthodontics

Dr. Nowaskey offers orthodontic treatments for all ages including expanders, traditional brackets and Invisalign clear aligner therapy.

Correcting a patients bite, straightening their teeth, closing gaps, jaw alignment and early intervention for palatal expansion.

Biteguards,Snoring Appliances,Bruxism

Whether you clinch or grind your teeth, both can be damaging to your teeth , can cause jaw pain and wear down teeth.

Dr. Nowaskey offer's custom made Bite guard's to help with the grindng & clinching that is done while sleeping.

Impressions are  taken, these are very precise to the patients bite. We send off those impressions to a lab to have a hard occulsal made.

Dr. Nowaskey will then adjust the guard to fit each patient's specific bite.

This is a relatively inexpensive and non-invasive treatment for Clenching, Grinding and TMJ.

Endodontics /Root Canal Surgery

Endodontic surgery or root canal surgery becomes necessary when a pulp becomes infected (abscessed) or inflamed.

Causes can be a cracked tooth, deep decay, repeated procedures on the same tooth, infection or trauma.

The tooth's infected pulp is removed and then cleaned and desensitized. The canals are then filled with gutta-percha and sealed with a permanent filling or crown.

Peridontal Disease Treatments

Periodontitis is gum disease, it can be mild, moderate and severe. It is essentially a bacterial infection causing bleeding, swelling gums and puss that can lead to gum recession, loose teeth and  bone loss.

Options for treating Periodontal Disease include Deep Scaling, Root planing, gum grafting, bone grafting, gum flaps and more frequent dental cleanings.

Tooth Extraction

A tooth extraction may become necessary when a tooth has had trauma, infection, has become damaged or cracked. It may also become necessary for overcrowding when a patient elects to have orthodontics.

This is done in office using local anesthetic. Gentle care is taken in the removal the tooth and cleaning of  the socket. On occasion a bone graft may be placed with the intent for future implant surgery.

Full & Partial
Dentures

Full & Partial Dentures are a removable oral prosthetic used to replace an entire arch of missing teeth or partially missing teeth.

A complete denture is adhered with an adhesive to keep it in place to your upper arch or lower jawbone ridge.

A partial denture will generally use a clasp to will wrap around an adjacent tooth to hold in place.

Patients with dental implants may benefit from a implant supported denture.

Teeth Whitening

If you are unhappy with the current shade of your teeth or have discoloration, teeth whitening may be a great option for you.

It would require a  quick consultation with Dr. Nowaskey, allowing him to exam you ensuring you are an appropriate candidate for whitening.

We would take a quick impression of your teeth, these are precise and allow the professional grade 22% carbamide peroxide gel to be placed exactly where its needed to minimize gum irritation.

This 14 day treatment requires 1 hour of daily wear time and can whiten your teeth by several shades all while in the comforts of your own home.

Veneers

Veneers are usually made out of thin  porcelain shells or composite material that are are placed over your existing tooth structure. It is a more conservative approach than crowning a tooth.

Veneers are great for teeth that are discolored and do not respond well to tooth whitening, for patients that are not happy with the overall shape of their teeth or those that my have cracks or chipping of their teeth.

With good at home care and regular hygiene visits Veneers can last for many years.
